Description
The Mebon Oriental is a temple located on what was an artificial island (in the middle of a reservoir) built by King Rajendravarman II. It was dedicated to the Hindu deity Shiva. The temple is famous for the huge statues of lions and elephants that adorn the corners of the temple platform.
